NEW YEAR
Welcome to 2020. Do you view this year as ‘just another year’ or do you believe the past years are stepping stones in our lives that help us grow spiritually? Certainly, it is important for us to learn from our past and to incorporate the wisdom we have obtained to help us in the future.
Isaiah (58:11) teaches us: “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” We can look into the New Year with fresh eyes filled with faith, trust, and hope.
The Psalmist (39:7) states:”But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.” And petitions God (25:5): “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long.”

We can look ahead with faith and expectation for what the Lord has for us. There is also a kingdom principle in Luke 6:38: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Facing the year ahead, let us entrust ourselves again to our great loving God, share His love with those around us, and walk into each new day with unfailing confidence in His faithfulness.
