“Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle… Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out.” — Exodus 40:34, 36 (ESV)
When the Israelites completed the tabernacle, God’s glory came down in a visible cloud. It was more than a symbol—it was His real, guiding presence among His people. Whether they camped in stillness or journeyed through the wilderness, they never did so alone. God’s presence moved with them, covering, leading, and reassuring them.
That same presence is with us now—not in a cloud, but through the indwelling Spirit of grace. In our best moments—when prayers are answered, relationships restored, or doors opened—He is there. And in the worst—when grief strikes, when we feel lost or overwhelmed—He has not left. His grace is not conditional on our circumstances or performance; it rests on His faithful promise: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
Knowing God is with us changes how we walk through life. We don’t need to fear the unknown, because He leads. We don’t need to prove ourselves worthy of His presence; Jesus has already made us so by grace. We simply follow, trust, and rest.
Today, the same God who filled the tabernacle with glory walks with you. In the wilderness or the promised land, He is enough—and He is near.
