We remember the 50 victims of the Christchurch terror attack ? and those lives that may still hang in the balance ? as well as the families and communities torn apart by this evil act, with deep sorrow and prayer.

We also denounce in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ the slaughter of these people, each created in God?s image, and for whom Christ died.

Who can comprehend this act?!?.We can?t ? it is illogical darkness.

But as Christians we live in hope in One who can comprehend it, unravel the darkness and evil, and lead us to a place of great hope. Jesus Christ can comprehend it, because He has been through it ? the innocent unjustly slaughtered in the place of worship ? Jerusalem.

He was oppressed and afflicted,
    yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
    and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
    so he did not open his mouth.
By a perversion of justice he was taken away.
    Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
    for the transgression of my people he was punished. He was
assigned a grave with the wicked,
    and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
    nor was any deceit in his mouth. ? Isaiah 53:7-9

Jesus Christ did this to pay for and heal all human evil; He also rose from that death, and is alive forever, to give us that same resurrection. Therefore He can lead all who look to Him in faith to healing and great hope.

Grace and Christ, Jonathan
